Previously on Survivor Sahara:
The tribes of Fulani and Tuareg finally merged into a new tribe: Burkina. Mr. Moderator: "The long awaited and overdue merge is finally here. This is a big change in the game of Survivor."
The old Fulani tribe left Ghat for their new home at Djanet and joined the old Tuareg tribe. Some were happy. Justin: "I feel like I am back home after being held as a prisoner of war in some third world country." Others were nervous. Angela: "We are treading on their turf now."
And with a new tribe, a new alliance was formed that included both Tuareg and Fulani members. Eric: "It's the spawn of something great. Final 5 here we come!"
At the Immunity Challenge, the castaways snuffed each others' torches, eliminating each other until there was only one left and it was Jennifer who won the immunity necklace.
Finally, at Tribal Council, it was a unanimous decision to vote out Jasmine. Mr. Moderator: "It's time for you to go!" SNUFF!
With only eight remaining castaways, who will get voted out tonight?

Day 25
"To the Final 8, making it halfway!" Justin made a toast on the morning of Day 25. Everybody was thrilled to be in the game still, even Eric was excited about this stage of the game. He was inspired to write about it, so he sat down and wrote a song. And although he survived this past Tribal Council, he stated, "I could go this week." In a confessional, Sahara talked about making it to the Final 8. "I can't believe I have made it this far. This game is really going." As for her strategy, Sahara was just waiting for the right moment to make her move and keep herself going to the end.
Justin was happy to survive the vote, but had mixed feelings. He was shocked by the unanimous vote for Jasmine. "I'm sure the girl knew she was going. It's just sad that everyone voted her. It did, however, make a lot of things clear to me and see what's really been going on in this game." Justin hated to betray her like that, but he said it wouldn't be that bad facing her next time at Tribal Council.
Besides Justin, Jasmine's absence didn't seem to put a damper on spirits at the camp. Sahara said that she was not surprised the vote for Jasmine was unanimous. "She brought it on herself." Sahara added that she wasn't worried about facing her at the next Tribal Council. "Everyone voted her, so we are all in the same boat." Eric claimed responsibility for booting Jasmine. "All my doing. I didn't like her." But if he made it to the Final 2, he was almost certain he wouldn't receive her vote.
Angela also talked about Jasmine's departure last night. "It was just the icing on the cake, especially after she tried to betray us!" She said she felt fine seeing her at the next Tribal Council. "I think that everyone has shown her that it wasn't acceptable to betray her tribe, especially since we had the advantage. And then expect the other tribe to open their arms up and trust her! If she votes against me on the jury, then fine."
However, Angela was surprised that Jasmine didn't succeed with her plan. "I sure can't believe that Tuareg didn't take Jasmine lovingly and temporarily into their arms, so as to get rid of Fulani once and for all. It sure took some major finagling and a fast deal to make a new inter-tribal alliance."
Others like Wade were also reflecting on Tribal Council. Wade realized that he hadn't received any votes against him yet in the game and he was happy to know so; it was a blessing. Sahara hadn't received any either, but the amazing thing was that every time Sahara voted, she voted for the person who was booted. She said, "I have noticed in Survivor it is good to stay with the majority."
It was another fair day in the Sahara with lots of cloud cover, but no rain. That meant the wells were drying up, so Tribe Burkina had to ration their water carefully. The winds were steady and they kicked up sand and blew it around, but there were no sandstorms. The high temperatures were expected to be in the upper 90s, nearing 100. The castaways still had to deal with the same blistering heat they did the first day they arrived. But it would cool off into the 70s at night.
That morning, Dennis and Ryan checked the treemail for their tribe to see if there was any news. Ryan pulled out a small piece of parchment rolled up and tied with string. He opened the note and the treemail stated that for the Reward Challenge, the castaways would compete in pairs, so they had to choose partners. Although the game had changed to individual, instead of one person winning the reward, two people would share it this time. Dennis asked Ryan immediately if he would be Dennis's partner. "You are the first person I asked. I'll try not to let you down." Ryan agreed to compete with Dennis and together, they would be called Team Success.
Back at camp, the other six players paired up into teams. Jenni immediately asked Angela to be her partner and Angela said she would. "We'll be Team Prune Juice", signifying their age. Justin was upset that Jenni didn't choose him, so he and Eric paired up. Finally, Wade said, "I guess that leaves Sahara and me."
At the Reward Challenge, Burkina arrived and Mr. Moderator explained the anticipated challenge. "Today you will compete in your first individual Reward Challenge. Actually, this will take place in teams of two, which you have already picked. You will compete with your partner today in a challenge called '25-Dollar Pyramid.' The winning partners will share the reward. You want to know what you're playing for? One team will receive all the ice cream they want in an air-conditioned compound. While that sounds good, there is also an additional prize. Both members on the winning team can force their partner to vote for anybody at Tribal Council. The only rule is you can't force your partner to vote for him or herself. Is that good enough to play for?"
The Survivors nodded in excitement. After Sahara heard what the reward was, she said in a confessional, "I was shocked. To force someone to vote with you! That's insane!" Mr. Moderator continued, "Okay, let me explain the challenge. Basically, you'll be playing a game similar to the 25,000-Dollar Pyramid Game Show. One person in each team will try to get the other person to say a particular word related to Survivor. One person will give clues to their partner and hope that their partner says the correct word. But you cannot use any of the ten words in your clues."
"So here's the deal. Wade, Dennis, Eric and Jenni have been chosen as the persons who will give the clues. Their partners, Sahara, Ryan, Justin and Angela will try to guess the ten words. The first group of two to correctly guess the ten words wins the reward. Okay, let's start. Wade, Dennis, Eric and Jenni, I'll give you each a list of the words and then you can start giving clues to your partner when I signal go." The host gave the four members the clues and then he shouted, "Survivors ready? Go!"
Wade started giving clues to Sahara. She guessed the first word correctly; it was machete. So did Ryan and Angela. Dennis gave Ryan a clue for the second word, "The all time receiver leader, who used to play for the 49ers and wore #80. His last name only." The word was rice and Ryan guessed it correctly. Jenni told Angela for her third word, "When this is extinguished, the tribe has spoken." Angela guessed torch and was correct. Meanwhile, Justin and Eric were having a hard time communicating. Eric couldn't think of clues for Justin.
For the fourth word, Wade said to Sahara, "It's clear and what you drink when you are thirsty." Dennis told Ryan for the same word, "The chemistry symbol H20 means...." The correct answer was water. Angela also got it right with Jenni's clue, "You can swim in it." Dennis and Ryan and Wade and Sahara were in the lead. But Angela and Jenni were catching up with the fifth word, which was challenge. Jenni tried to get Angela to say that word by telling her, "What we are doing right now...Reward...." Angela said, "Challenge." They were halfway there.
Justin and Eric didn't have one point yet. They were in last place and showed no sign of catching up soon. On the sixth word, Wade said to Sahara, "The city where the Burkina tribe lives and also where Tuareg was." Sahara was confused and couldn't think of the word, Djanet. Dennis and Ryan were working on the seventh word. Dennis said, "Jenni won the last blank challenge." Jenni said to Angela for the same word, "What we need to win to not get voted out." Angela and Ryan both said immunity.
Ryan and Dennis and Angela and Jenni were tied on the eighth word. Jenni told Angela, "What we live in...it keeps us out of the rain...not our hut but...." Angela said, "Shelter!" They moved onto the ninth word. So had Dennis and Ryan. Dennis told Ryan, "When somebody gets burnt or hurt, you go to get this little case. This thing is called a...." Ryan answered correctly with first aid kit. Dennis then told Ryan for the tenth word, "You can light your cigarette with a lighter or with several...." Ryan said, "Incense." But that wasn't the word. Wade had caught up and told Sahara, "Something you use to start a fire with. It comes in small packs or books." But she couldn't get it either. Jenni told Angela, "These can be used to light a fire." Angela screamed, "Matches!" That was the word she was looking for. Jenni and Angela had won the Reward Challenge.
However, Dennis said that the girls had cheated. When they guessed the ninth word, first aid kit, Jenni said, band-aids, and Dennis said that aids was part of the word, first aid kit. The host, however, said that since it was used in a different way, he wouldn't count against it. Dennis was mad. "I don't really care about the Reward Challenge, but if I am here using up my time, the least I expect is a fair host. I know it's a stretch, but the real 25,000-Pyramid Show host would've probably disqualified it." Jenni said to Dennis, "I wish we could go back and do it over, but we can't. I hope you are not mad at me." Dennis finally calmed down and said, "I am not mad at you. Congratulations to you and Angela on your hard worked victory."
The host dismissed Dennis's comment and congratulated the girls. Team Prune Juice would spend the afternoon in the air conditioned compound and eat all the ice cream they wanted. The host said, "I have rocky road, cookie dough, strawberry, chocolate and plain vanilla. I have everything. So enjoy ladies; you deserve it." The two women would also force each other to vote at Tribal Council. Before the two women left for their ice cream treat, Justin congratulated Jenni on winning the Reward Challenge. Jenni said, "Thanks Justin, but Angela really deserves the congrats. She was really fast at answering everything."

Jennifer and Angela eating reward |
When Jenni and Angela were eating ice cream, Jenni called Dennis a big baby after his outburst at the Reward Challenge. Angela told Jenni to forget about it. They just wanted to eat in peace and quiet and cool air for a while. Mr. Moderator made them each a cone and they licked the ice cream to keep it from dripping. They tried lots of different flavors and had different kinds with each scoop. They both commented that it tasted so good and having cool air felt even better. When they had their fill, Angela said, "I feel cooler and full of ice cream." Both Angela and Jenni thanked the host and then walked back to camp.
Later when Jennifer and Angela returned full of ice cream, they saw that Dennis, Wade and Eric were kicking a soccer ball around. Jenni commented that it looked like fun and asked Angela to join her, but Angela declined. So Jenni told the boys that she would play with them and offered to be goalie. Dennis said, "Here comes this shot, Jenni, are you ready?" She answered, "I'm ready sweetheart!" She caught his shot and kicked it back towards him.
Wade told Jenni that since he couldn't kick very hard, it would be easy to block. So he kicked the ball from 50 feet away and it rolled slowly towards Jenni, who dived for it and surprisingly missed it. Wade scored a goal, but Jenni felt like a fool. Then Dennis tried to kick the ball again and missed it, falling on the ground. "I am now the one looking like a fool," he said.
Angela had gone off to talk in a confessional about lying in the game. "I have had to lie to Jenni, Justin, and Ryan. I don't have any problem lying to Justin, a little bit lying to Jenni, but a lot lying to Ryan. But then, literally 10 minutes later, the opportunity to not get picked off one by one arose in the form of a new alliance with 2 Tuaregs and 3 Fulanis. And Ryan became the unlucky number 4. I will, however, keep Ryan around as long as possible." She added that she had played the game ethically and morally until she broke her pact with Ryan, but "someone had to get sacrificed."
Angela added that her original strategy was to get to the Final 5 with the old Fulani tribe, "but now a new strategy is in play. I feel pretty secure, but I want to make sure that I can win the votes from the jury if I make the Final 2. So I almost think that I now have to honor this new alliance so as to win the jury."
Sahara was asked if she had lied yet in this game, too. She talked about it in a confessional along with morals and ethics. "I don't think that I flat out lied. I think that I can handle myself about saying what I need to say without lying. With alliances changing as much as they do, I feel that I am trying to play the cleanest game possible." Sahara was right. With all the alliances in the game, Ryan wasn't involved with one and Angela said that he would probably win because of it.
Eric said he didn't lie much either; he was just sneaky. Since his planned vote was for Dennis, his old friend from Day 1 at Tuareg, Eric said that he would have had played the game as morally as possible until he cast that vote. From then, the only lying that happened was in the shelter as the sun set and the moon rose.
After everybody had turned in for the night, Dennis proposed an idea to Wade that night while they watched the fire. "If I ever go to the Final Two, I would like to go against the best, against you." Wade was taken aback, but said he liked that idea. Dennis said, "I think people couldn't ever imagine a Wade-Dennis Final 2."
But they wanted to know where they stood in the alliance of five. They said that Angela and Sahara were tight, and Angela was also close with Eric. "Eric and Angela are Final Two in their mind." Dennis also said that Eric and Angela are running the show and have a Final Two pact. Wade admitted that he was suspicious of Eric and Angela. Dennis said, "So we let those two (Angela and Eric) think that they are running the game for now."
Day 26
On Day 26, Wade and Sahara checked their tree mailbox. Sahara thought it was a clue for the Immunity Challenge, but Wade pulled out a folder that read: SATs: Survivor Aptitude Tests. Wade and Sahara trekked back to camp and gave each of the castaways a test. The instructions said to fill out the tests privately and return them to the tree mailbox. So each of the eight players went to their own secluded spot and filled out questions about their fellow castaways.
Eric wrote down himself as the smartest on the first question of the SATs. He said Angela was playing the game the best and she was also his best friend. He liked Ryan the least and said that he, himself, lied the most. He said Sahara used sex appeal the most. He wanted to meet Angela in real life and thought she was the leader of the tribe. He said Wade slacked off the most and wrote himself for both the entertainer of the tribe and who needed to see a therapist after the game. He put Wade as the biggest Survivor fan and Justin as the underdog. He put Jenni as the flirt as well as the craziest castaway. He wrote down Dennis for the most athletic and Sahara as the most shy. He said Angela was everybody's friend and he was rooting for her to win because he also thought she had the best chance of winning.
Wade said that Angela was the smartest and was playing the game the best. His best friend was Sahara, but he liked Eric the least. He said that Eric was the leader of the tribe, as well as the entertainer, and the person who lied the most. Wade also thought that Eric slacked off the most. He wanted to meet Angela in real life, if he could. And he thought that out of all his tribemates, Dennis needed to see a therapist the most. As for the biggest Survivor fan, he put himself. He said that Ryan was the underdog and Sahara was the flirt. He put down Justin as the most athletic and thought that Ryan was the most shy. He said he was the craziest and wildest and Jenni was everybody's friend. Jenni also had the best chance of winning, he thought, but was rooting for Angela to win.
When Ryan was filling out his SATs, he said that Angela was the smartest. He said that Wade was playing the game the best, and put him down as his best friend, also. He liked Eric the least and thought he lied the most. He said that Sahara used sex appeal the most. Ryan wanted to meet Jenni in real life. He put Dennis as the leader of the tribe, and said that Sahara slacked off the most. He wrote down Eric's name for the entertainer of the tribe and said that Sahara needed to see a therapist after the game was over. He put himself as the biggest Survivor fan and said that Jenni was the underdog. Sahara was the flirt, Eric was the most athletic and Ryan put himself as the most shy. He said that Sahara was the wildest out of the whole group but Dennis was everybody's friend. Wade had the best chance of winning, Ryan thought, but said he was rooting for himself.
Dennis thought Wade was the smartest and said Wade was playing the game the best. Justin was his best friend, but he liked Jenni the least. He thought Eric lied the most so he wrote down Eric's name for that question. He said Sahara used sex appeal the most, and he wanted to meet Justin in real life. He said Angela was the leader of the tribe and Eric slacked off the most, but he also put Eric for the biggest Survivor fan. He said Wade was the entertainer of the tribe and thought Jenni needed to see a therapist after the game was over. He said Justin was the underdog and wrote down Sahara as the flirt. He put Wade as the most athletic and Jenni as the wildest and craziest. He thought Ryan was the most shy and Angela was everybody's friend. Wade had the best chance of winning, so he thought, but he was rooting for Justin to win.

He put Dennis as the most athletic and Ryan as the most shy. He put Jenni as everybody's friend and Angela had the best chance of winning, he thought. Though, he was rooting for himself to win the game.
Sahara thought Wade and Angela were the smartest, but she said that Wade was playing the game the best. Her best friend was Wade, but she liked Jenni the least. She also said that Jenni lied the most. She put herself as the person who used sex appeal the most, and would most likely want to meet Wade or Eric in real life. She wrote down Eric as the leader as well as the entertainer. She said Ryan slacked off the most, but it was Dennis who needed to see a therapist after the game was over. She couldn't decide whether she was a bigger fan of Survivor than Wade or not. She said that Wade was the underdog and put herself as the flirt. She said Eric was the most athletic, but wrote down herself too for that question. Eric was the craziest and wildest while Ryan was the most shy, she thought. She wrote down her own name as everybody's friend and said that Wade had the best chance of winning. She was rooting for him and herself too.
Angela thought she was both the smartest as well as the person who was playing the game the best. She said Sahara was her best friend, but it was Justin, who she liked the least. Cracked Pot |
Jenni believed she was the smartest but said Eric was playing the game the best overall. Her best friend was Justin, but she liked Sahara the least. She said Eric lied the most, and put herself as the person who used sex appeal the most. She would've liked to meet Dennis in real life and said that she, herself, was the leader the tribe. She wrote down Ryan's name for the slacker and put Eric's name for the entertainer. Jenni said she needed to see a therapist after the game was done, so she wrote down her own name for that question. She also put herself as the biggest Survivor fan, the flirt, the craziest and everybody's friend. She said that Justin was the underdog, so she was rooting for him to win. She put down Ryan as the most shy and Dennis as the most athletic. But who did she think had the best shot of winning? She wrote Eric.
The tribe put all their answers back in the folder and returned it to their mailbox. They closed the box and wondered what would happen next.
The tribe went on with their usual chores to pass the time. Sahara cleaned up the camp along with Justin. After that, Sahara, Justin and Ryan washed their clothes and found some excess food to take with them back to camp. Wade went to the oasis to gather firewood and also do some fishing. Jenni gathered the bait and tackle and helped him fish. But before she left, she checked the water supply; it looked good. Wade and Jenni found one measly fish. They debated whether they should bother eating it because it hardly had any meat. Plus, their pot to cook it in was cracked.
Later Ryan took the pole and fishing gear and went to fish at the oasis. Dennis helped him. He said, "We need some food." But Ryan and Dennis had miserable luck. Wade and Jenni had used up a lot of bait trying to catch fish and wasted energy. They not only had to fish for food, but they had to fish for bait.
While the two of them fished, Justin remained at camp and tended to the fire, poking at the flame with a stick. Later on, he put more logs onto the fire. Then, he started to boil water so they could eat something for lunch. After Justin cooked lunch that morning, he straightened things up around camp. Sahara offered to take over for Justin, tending the fire. Their fire was strong, as they took turns watching it. And each day, they were collecting more and more firewood. But on Sahara's watch at night, the fire blew out. She quickly re-lighted it as she stumbled around in the dark to find matches.
They decided to eat the one small fish for dinner and shared it. They needed all the protein they could get out here in the desert. But they might have been better off not eating the fish. When Jennifer cooked the fish, she didn't cook it thoroughly enough. Ryan vomited because of the undercooked fish. Even though Jenni worked in food service for 13 years, she had to remember that cooking fish in the middle of the desert was different than cooking at a restaurant.
But food wasn't on Justin's mind that night. Justin was worried about the upcoming Immunity Challenge and the Tribal Council that followed. "My head is on the chopping block and that necklace is what's going to hold my head in place." He felt that he had a target on his back, but wondered why. "I'm definitely a target at this one and am running scared trying to make deals with people to save myself. I wish I knew what made me such a target for everyone on this tribe. I feel very alone out here right now. Maybe, this is it for me. I'm tired of doing all this plotting, making deals with people, and lying. I'm just tired," Justin said.
Justin was worried that Angela and Jennifer would use the reward they had won and would both force each other to vote for him. "I think I might have said I hadn't lied before but things are getting nasty in this game. Things I said previously in this game are quickly becoming lies. My whole F2 alliance with Jenni is definitely a lie now because that's what it is to her. She made a deal to save herself and I'm going to do the same thing. The people who I thought were my friends and people I still like, I'm betraying them to save my butt. I want to go the distance in this game and I guess ethics and morals are my sacrifice to get there. I was wrong when I said Burkina didn't exist because it definitely does. They want to make things ugly, I can do it too."
Justin went to Dennis for help and said, "I don't understand why we're falling apart." Dennis said that it was because of Eric. Justin talked about targeting Eric and asked, "Am I the only one who seriously despises him?" Dennis told Justin, "I think either immunity or I are your only options." But Dennis tried changing the subject towards targeting Jenni instead. Justin reluctantly agreed and said he'd vote for Jenni along with Dennis and Fulani. Justin told Dennis, "Get me to the Final 4 and I'll be your best friend for life." Dennis smiled and they agreed that Justin would talk to Sahara and Dennis would talk to Ryan and Wade.
Wade said that Sahara and Justin were on board about voting Jenni. All they needed was Ryan. Wade thought about replacing Justin in the alliance with Eric. Dennis said, "I am down with it only because I think that Justin is a good guy and Eric is very deceitful." Wade added that "once Jenni goes, then she [Angela] will be almost 100% trustworthy."
Dennis said to Justin, "What you have going on for you is that you are a good guy whereas Jenni's behavior changes for the worst because of the game." Dennis said he would vote for Jenni and referred to Justin when he said, "Only one Tuareg relied on the right Tuareg to save him." He told Justin that it felt like Justin was Heidi and Jenni was Kristi because he spared Heidi and got rid of Kristi and now he was going to spare Justin and get rid of Jenni. Dennis said in a confessional later that night, "Justin has held his head high in my view. That's why I am not voting for him. Justin is a good guy."
So, Dennis called a meeting with Sahara, Ryan and Wade. He said, "The purpose of this meeting, besides of the pleasure of chatting with each other, is to discuss the next boot." Wade asked Ryan for suggestions. Ryan said Justin, but asked what everybody else was thinking. Dennis said, "We are thinking Justin can go anytime." In addition, if Justin voted with them, they'd have a majority. Wade and Sahara quickly agreed.
Dennis continued, "We were thinking Jenni. She is getting way too close with Angela and if those two hook up with Eric, we can be history!" Wade said that they should split up the Eric-Jenni alliance. Dennis told Sahara, "We also have to make her pay for what she did to you." He reminded her that Jenni wanted Sahara gone at Tuareg, but Sahara said that she didn't need her mind refreshed. When everybody was finally in agreement, Dennis ended the meeting by saying, "We all need to be on the same page (Jenni); otherwise, it's a lost cause. We need to be aware."
Ryan talked to Dennis while they fished. He said that Jenni warned him about Eric, so Ryan wondered if they weren't as close as people thought. But Dennis wasn't buying it and told Ryan, "I told him [Justin] that his only option to save himself was to vote for Jenni and he jumped on that."
Finally, after a long wait, the host sent back the results of the SATs to the Tribe Burkina treemail. The castaways gathered around to hear as Angela read their scores. Angela had received four votes for being the smartest and Wade got two. Seven people, including himself, thought Eric lied the most. And six people said Sahara used sex appeal the most; Jenni and Justin each received one vote for sex appeal. Seven people thought Eric was the entertainer of the tribe.
Dennis received three votes in the category of who needed to see a therapist after the game was over; Jenni received two for the same category. Wade got the most votes for being the biggest Survivor fan and Sahara got a majority of the votes for being the flirt. Jenni got two and Justin got one for being the flirt of the tribe. Dennis was voted most athletic. And Jenni got four votes for being the craziest and the wildest, while Sahara got two votes. Ryan, with seven votes, was voted must shy. Finally, Jenni received three votes and Angela received two for being everybody's friend.
Dennis said afterwards, "It's flattering to me that I won the category who needs to see a therapist after this game is over" and laughed. Eric talked about the results in his confessional after seven people thought he lied the most. "It's okay. I think I lie the most too." He laughed and added, "When I won a category, I swept it."
When Jenni was asked about the results, she said, "Craziest and wildest? I am pretty wild. And I do like that some people think of me as a friend!" But she did receive one vote for lying the most. She said, "And I haven't told one lie the whole game." Sahara said after she saw the results, "I think it was kind of fun that we got to see stuff like this. I am not surprised that I got the flirt and the sex appeal ones. I believe that." She laughed.
Justin looked at the results of the SATs differently. He saw not winning any of the categories as a good thing. "It was pretty funny to see that everyone thought Eric lied the most...And yet he's still in the flipping game. I don't get it. I just want to beat him in this game. That's my new goal: to outlast Eric."

Berber Tribe on the Horizon |
Day 27
Chores always needed to be completed even after 27 days. Dennis and Ryan tried fishing again that morning. Since Jenni and Wade didn't have luck fishing the previous day, Jenni said she'd cook Ryan and Dennis's catch. Justin found some berries to go along with the fish. He also found some mushrooms when he went to fill his canteen with water. Justin said, "The original water hole is running low, so I'm going to go out looking for a new one. Otherwise we're not going to be doing so hot. If anyone wants to come along...." Ryan said he would help Justin.
But before Justin left, Jenni felt like speaking her mind. Jennifer said that they should divide up the chores like fetching water and boiling it, tending to the fire and gathering wood, fixing the shelter, fishing, gathering berries and nuts and cleaning up the camp. The chores seemed scattered and everybody didn't seem to pull their own weight. So finally, the teammates got to work.
Justin and Ryan eventually found a new water hole like they had planned. It wasn't the best and hard to reach, but it would do for the time being. When they came back with the jugs filled to the brim, they saw that the others were gathering around something. They went to see what it was.
Chickens were one of the five items that the old Fulani tribe brought with them to Djanet. Wade said, "Since the chickens seem a bit...umm....tired, I'll feed them and check for eggs." Wade didn't want to eat the chickens yet, so he offered to go hunting and gathering for his tribe to see what he could find. Jenni joined him in his search.
But Dennis was getting hungry for the chickens. He said, "When are we going to eat those jokers?" Jenni said that today would be a good day for chicken after her fiasco with the fish earlier. She said, "Anyone up for cutting off their little heads? Dennis, how about you cut off the heads?" Wade and Sahara said they couldn't watch and turned away and walked off. Dennis used the machete to cut off the head and then the clucking stopped. The tribe then cooked the bird. Justin added jokingly that he'd bury the feet and head of Lucky, the chicken, in his makeshift cemetery.
After they ate, Sahara and Ryan checked their treemail and found a clue for the Immunity Challenge. As they walked back to camp, they talked. Since Jenni won the immunity necklace last time, Sahara worried about this next Immunity Challenge. "As long as Jenni doesn't win immunity, I will be voting for her." Ryan said that he wanted to vote for Jenni, as well. "This just needs to be done." Yet he was unsure about his decision and said in a confessional, "This vote is really going to suck. While Wade was wanting me to vote Jenni, when I was talking to Angela last night, I got the feeling that is not what she wanted. She will probably be mad if Jenni gets booted."
At the Immunity Challenge, Mr. Moderator said hello to Tribe Burkina. "First things first. Jenni, I need the immunity necklace back. This is what you're playing for today. If you win today's challenge, you can wear this around your neck and that signifies you cannot be voted for at Tribal Council. Now, onto today's Immunity Challenge called 'Get Organized!'"
"Here's what happened: I found a collage of items relating to the Sahara Desert and survival, but I mixed them all up. What you must do in order to win immunity is organize the items into five categories: Countries, Plants/Animals, Land Features, People/Tribes, and Survival Items. If the item is a country, put it into the Countries storage bin. If it's a plant or animal, put it into the Plants/Animals storage bin. And so on and so forth. If you don't know what an item is, guess."
"There are 50 items total and after you organize the items, you should have 10 in each storage bin. You only get one shot, so make sure you have the right items in the right category. Once you think you've got it, call me over and I'll check. If you have a wrong item in the wrong category, you're eliminated. The first person to get all 50 items into the right categories wins the immunity necklace. Good luck! Survivors ready? Go!" The host gave them the collage of mixed up items and they started to sort.
When Ryan was organizing the items for the Immunity Challenge, he thought that the Sahel was a country, when it is actually a land feature. And he put Western Sahara, an actual country, in the Land Features bin. But he correctly organized all the other countries and land features, except that he put the desert jerboa, a mouse, in the Land Features storage bin. He was in a hurry and couldn't seem to concentrate. He got all the survival items right, but when it came to People/Tribes, he only had nine items correct. He put a mouflon, which is a sheep, as the tenth item in that category. And he was missing an animal in the last bin. He said, "I know I won't win, but at least I tried."
Dennis placed all ten countries in the right category. He also placed the animals and plants in their correct storage bin with ease. Dennis was taking his time to make sure he got everything right, but he mixed up a land feature for a tribe name, placing them in the wrong category. He put Hausa in the Land Features bin and Sahel in the People/Tribes category. That was his only mistake.
Jenni was in a mad dash to finish the challenge first. She was organizing quickly, but not efficiently. She accidentally put Arabs in the Countries category, thinking of United Arab Emirates. She also put Sahel in the Countries storage bin and she put palm trees and acacia trees in the Land Features bin. However, she put many of the correct items in the People/Tribes storage bin and the Survival Items bin, but she had some extras left over and she didn't know which item belonged in which category.
Sahara got all the countries in the right category from Algeria to Western Sahara. She also correctly placed the plants and animals in the right category. She had no problems with the land features, people and tribes or survival items. But she wasn't fast enough.
When all was said and done, Mr. Moderator checked the castaways' bins. He announced, "We have a winner. The immunity necklace goes to...Wade. He was the first to organize the list into the correct categories." Mr. Moderator put the necklace around Wade's neck. "Good job! It looks good on you. We'll have to get an Immunity Bracelet to match. But the important thing is...you cannot be voted for at Tribal Council. You're safe for another 3 days. Congrats!" Dennis said to Wade, "Boy, you are fast! Congrats!" Jenni added, "You don't fool around Wade. Awesome job!"
Back at camp, Sahara talked to Wade as they sat by the campfire. She said, "Why do you always have to win?" Wade replied, "I've never tried to be mean when I do challenges. I try to win just like everyone else." Sahara suggested that they could start working together on challenges because Wade was so fast at them. Sahara always tried hard in challenges, but she always came up short against Wade.
To change the subject, Wade told Sahara about the new alliance. He said that Angela was trying to save Jenni. Angela had approached Wade and told him to vote Eric. Wade said, "Dennis and I thought that we should get Eric out next, and replace him with Justin. Eric is too sneaky; that's why I want him out next after Jenni." Yet Sahara had another problem to deal with. She had a heard a rumor that Dennis had spilled the beans about the alliance of five. Wade said that Dennis hadn't told, but Sahara said, "Well, somebody is obviously lying."
While Jenni and Dennis were at the water hole, filling canteens for the tribe, Dennis asked if Jenni would vote for Justin next, but Jenni replied, "It's so hard Den, but I think I have to. I know if I don't vote for him, there will be a huge target on my head." Dennis then confronted Jennifer about growing closer to Eric, but Jennifer said that the two of them barely talk. Dennis said, "You and I barely talk either. You only talk about strategy one minute and then leave." He said that he knew more about Ryan than he did about Jennifer.
Dennis told Jennifer that Eric switched sides, and Jenni said, "I thought you did too." Dennis replied, "Eric put me in this mess. I had no other chance. Eric has you believing things. He has you believing that I was the one who originally switched sides and now you are reluctant to me. Just admit it. Why do you believe him over me? Because he tells you that you are safe?" Dennis thought Jenni sold her soul to Eric.
Jenni said, "He [Eric] has me believing he is the mastermind behind all that goes on." Dennis replied, "You are a sucker for believing him. People think Eric and you have an alliance." Jenni swore that she never joined an alliance with Eric; she said she knew nothing about how the vote would go this time at Tribal Council. Dennis said, "I just wish you relied more on me for your safety than on a 17-year-old. I wish I could help you, Jenni." Jenni reminded Dennis of the first day when Tuareg made an alliance. "Remember this? 'Hey guys, so are we set? This is the alliance to the end?'" Dennis said that they were just friends. "You've changed," he said. Jenni replied, "So have you."
Jenni wanted to end the game on a good note, even though Dennis wasn't making it easy. He told her, "It's not like you had much life left in the game anyway. You dug your own grave when you went ballistic against Sahara. You are responsible for your own actions." He said Jenni's mistake with Sahara was the cause of her downfall. Jenni only wished things had been different. Dennis said, "Don't blame your actions on me. You haven't played the game smart. You're a nice woman though, but you are not the nice Jenni I once knew."
Jennifer replied, "If you only knew the kind of person I am. You telling me I'm not nice couldn't be further from the truth. I don't take the game to heart." She wanted to end the conversation. "There's nothing else to say. I'm done in the game." She walked away from Dennis, but he hollered after her that he'd be on the jury with her soon. "I am fighting an uphill battle against the Fulanis. It's not easy."
Jenni approached Eric after talking with Dennis and said, "Why are you telling people we are aligned?" Eric admitted that he never told anybody that, even after Jenni talked about her conversation with Dennis. Eric said, "You are telling this to the biggest liar. But I never lied to you." Jennifer said that Dennis was mad at her. "Out of everyone in this game, I trusted him. I thought we were friends."
When she then asked Eric about switching sides, he replied, "Don't believe everything that he [Dennis] says." Jenni said, "I don't even have an alliance anymore." Eric said that he'd talk to Angela and they'd vote out Dennis, even though Eric was supposedly a friend of Dennis. But Eric had told Dennis, "My partnership with you is over." And when Dennis learned that Eric was voting for him, Dennis said to Eric, "You better hope that I am going 'cause I am going after you next."
So the three of them decided to go after Dennis at Tribal Council. Jenni said, "I'll take what I can get." She then said to Eric, "Maybe we can work something out for the two of us to get further." Eric said that was a possibility as long as Jenni convinced Dennis not to vote him.
Eric tried to think of a way to use the reward to their advantage. Jennifer knew she didn't have a good shot of making it to the end, "unless I keep winning immunity." Eric wanted to use Justin's previous votes to his advantage since neither Eric, Jenni nor Angela had any votes yet in the game. Eric told Jennifer that the new order was Justin first, and then they'd vote for Ryan. Eric said that Jenni was safe and she replied, "That does mean a lot."
Jennifer came back to camp and felt a warning in her heart, a warning of being voted out at Tribal Council. "Well, I'm going to pack up my stuff early. Someone was kind enough to let me know my time is up here in the Sahara, and I appreciate knowing."
Before she left, she wanted to apologize to Sahara for not getting to know her and making one little comment. "Funny how things get blown out of proportion." She regretted not getting to know the Fulanis better and told Angela she would never forget Team Prune Juice. She finally said, "I'm going on a hike and I'm going to take a look at the beautiful countryside, anyone coming?" As she hiked by herself along the sand dunes, she began looking at the game, her life and almost everything in a different light.
When Jenni returned from her walk, Angela pulled Jenni aside. "I don't want you to go! I think we can maybe work something out!" Angela didn't know who to force Jenni to vote for, so she asked Sahara. Angela heard that Dennis might be getting a couple of votes, but thought of voting for Eric in case there was a tie in the future between him and somebody else. Sahara said that voting for Eric was a smart idea. Angela said, "Plus, I want to let him [Eric] know that I am tired of him trying to boss me around."
So Angela went to ask for Jenni's opinion. Jenni said, "I was railroaded," but if it meant a chance of sticking around, she'd go with Angela's plan. She thought of turning on Eric and told Angela, "At this point, there is no one I want gone more the Eric." Angela decided that both of them could force each other to vote for Eric. She had talked to Justin about joining them and he had said, "We do this and things should get better for me."
Eric had also talked to Justin; he wanted Justin to join their alliance, too. But Justin was suspicious and wanted to know why he was a target. Eric said, "You were a target because you had previous votes against you in case of a tie." Eric then went on to admit that his alliance with Angela was that they would just take each other as far as they possibly could.
Justin talked about his conversation with Eric afterwards. "Two paths diverged in a wood, I chose the one less traveled, but which is that? Do I vote Jenni and make a majority, but not know what lies ahead for me or should I vote Dennis and have a tentative alliance with Jenni, Eric and possibly Angela? I'm in a state of paralysis about what to do. I guess this rugged path is the way to win or the way to lose."
Since Angela wanted to be truthful, she also admitted to Jennifer about the alliance of five consisting of Wade, Sahara, Dennis, Eric and herself, "but I want out of it." She said that Eric "had a set plan, but he is changing it to suit his moods." Jenni said, "Kind of like a fly, isn't he?" They would try to target Eric, even though Dennis was also a probable boot. If it came down to a tie, Angela said, "It would at least give you a 50-50 chance. At worst, it could mean a rock picking thing." Jenni said later in a confessional, "At this point I have to trust Angela. My time is almost up."

Desert Eagle Owl |
As the tribe approached Tribal Council, they heard an owl screech in the distance; it felt eerie. Each member of Tribe Burkina banged the gong at Tribal Council to announce the beginning of a scared ritual they took part of every three days. Tonight, they would vote a member of their own tribe out of the game. They lit their torches and took a seat.
Mr. Moderator said, "We're going to talk about the past three days, but first, we'll bring in the jury, which tonight consists only of Jasmine. You voted her out last Tribal Council, but she has returned tonight strictly to observe the happenings here. You do not address Jasmine and she will not address you. She is just a silent observer in the corner. Perhaps some things said tonight will help her in her decision when she votes at the Final Tribal Council. So, moving on. Let's talk, why don't we!"
"Wade, first of all, wonderful job on winning that immunity necklace! My question for you is...you can't give the immunity necklace up to anybody tonight, but if you could, would you? Do you feel safe enough to be here without the necklace?"
Wade answered, "I don't think I'd give immunity up. You can't feel 100% safe at Tribal Council ever unless of course you have this necklace around your neck."
"Dennis, when you go to vote, do you think more about who you want to get rid of or who you want to keep around?"
"Well, that's a good question," Dennis said. "When I vote, I want to keep those around that I have a good relationship with."
"This question is for both Angela and Jennifer. Since you won the Reward Challenge, you are forcing each other to vote for somebody tonight. How do you feel not having control of your own vote tonight?"
Angela said that she felt okay because since Jenni was casting her vote and she was casting Jenni's, they would cancel each other out. Jenni added, "Angela will make the right choice."
Mr. Moderator then asked Jennifer, "Last time at Tribal Council, the vote seemed pretty clear. Do you think tonight will be an easy and clear choice as well?
Jenni said, "Tonight will be the hardest vote so far in the game. The votes are never easy and the longer we are all here, the more we get to know each other, the harder it gets."
"Justin, since we do have one of our jury members present tonight, how do you feel about having Jasmine here? Also, how can you vote somebody out like Jasmine and then turn around and try to get her vote if you make it to the Final 2?"
"It's a very different situation. In the past, you don't have to face the person you voted off, but now you do. And in order to get that person's vote in the end, I think you just need to have tried to make a relationship with that person and show them how well you're playing the game."
Mr. Moderator said, "Okay, well it's time to vote. The voting at this Tribal Council is different. But one thing hasn't changed. You cannot vote for Wade because is wearing the immunity necklace. Everybody will vote just as any other regular Tribal Council, except for Angela and Jennifer. Angela, instead of voting for a person tonight, you will write down whom you force Jennifer to vote for. And Jennifer, you will write down whom you force Angela to vote for. Do you understand?" They nodded. "Okay then, Angela, why don't you go first?"
Angela forced Jennifer to vote for Eric "just as an insurance vote." Jenni went next and forced Angela to vote for Dennis. She said, "Dennis is seen as a strength and a threat to win the game. Plus, a few people said they were voting for him. I don't know what other choice I have." Justin voted and said, "The game's changing and I have to change with it. Thanks for making me a fighter." Wade voted, then Ryan voted and then Dennis voted for Jennifer. Eric voted for Dennis and finally, Sahara wrote down a name and put it in the voting urn. She said to the camera, "You and I never clicked."
Mr. Moderator tallied the votes, reminding everybody that once the votes were read, the decision was final. The person would be asked to leave immediately, but they would also become the second member of the jury and join Jasmine. The host pulled out the first vote and read it. "Dennis. Second vote. Jenni. Third vote. Eric. That's one vote for Jenni, one vote for Dennis and one vote for Eric. Fourth vote. Dennis. Fifth vote. Jenni. That's two votes for Jenni. Two votes for Dennis. One vote for Eric. Sixth vote. Jenni. Seventh vote. Jenni. Eighth and final vote. J is for Jenni. You need to bring me your torch. The tribe has spoken. It's time for you to go." The host snuffed her torch and she walked away into the darkness of the Sahara. The remaining tribe walked into the darkness the opposite way, back to camp.
Next Time on Survivor Sahara:
One of the remaining castaways receives a reward that makes a big splash!
And at camp, things get emotional. Sahara: "On a personal note, I just want to say that I love this game and this tribe. I'm sorry. I guess I am just a little emotional."
But Justin worries about the future of the game. Justin: "I think things are just going to get uglier from here and there's going to be a lot more fighting and drama."
At the Immunity Challenge, the tribes must find the right key before the music stops!
And at Tribal Council, three strikes and you're out doesn't apply anymore. Dennis: "He crossed me once; I forgave him. He crossed me twice; I offered reconciliation. No! Wait! He crossed me once and that's all I need."
